Heating Oil Remains the Cheapest Form of Energy

Heating oil remains the cheapest form of energy according to independent provider of comparative home heating costs, Sutherland Tables, following the release of its January 2017 energy comparison report.

The latest figures show that heating a typical three bedroom home on oil, using a condensing boiler is £952 per annum. If you use LPG the average cost is £1,460 per annum, whilst electricity is £1,635 per annum.

This means that an oil condensing boiler is also cheaper to run than any renewable heating option with wood pellets costing £1,281per annum and air source heat pump radiators £1,491 per annum.

Commenting on these latest findings, Janet Kettlewell, Kettlewell Fuels’ Operations Manager, said: “As a trusted fuel supplier to our customers in North Yorkshire, we know how much heating oil prices matter so this is good news.”

A Kettlewell Fuels Top Tip:

Look out for a supplier whose product is sourced from a secure fuel supply. It’s also good to know that the company you buy from employs drivers who know the local area and has the resource to deliver to rural terrain.

Kettlewell Fuels offers consistently competitive fuel rates for Domestic Heating Oil, Agricultural Gas Oil and Commercial Derv, delivering to households, farms and businesses within a 40-mile radius, including Thirsk, Harrogate and Northallerton.
